The making of ELDICO: SNI/Nano Argovia helped to create the prototype

This week SNI Insight, the publication of the Swiss Nanoscience Institute featured ELDICO in a 4 page report.

It is entitled “With a lot of energy and know-how – scientists from the SNI network found ELDICO Scientific” and really a good read.

ELDICO Scientific was founded in June 2019, but the story began much earlier. An important impetus for the founding of the company was the award we received from the leading international scientific journal SCIENCE. This has awarded the application of electron diffraction to nanocrystalline systems as “Breakthrough of the Year 2018” – worldwide.

It was based on the publication of the research results of our founders Gustavo and Gunther together with a team of scientists from PSI, ETH Zurich and the University of Basel (C-CINA) in Angewandte Chemie in autumn 2018. Scientifically relevant samples were successfully measured on a prototype electron diffractometer. This research project was financed by the Nano-Argovia-Project A3EDPI and thus laid the foundation for the foundation of ELDICO Scientific.

Since then we are well on our way. The product development of our pilot has started and our appearance at the ECM32, the 32nd European Crystallography Meeting in Vienna, the top event with more than 1,000 visitors, has brought us a lot of positive attention.
