Electron Diffractometer delivered to Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.

ELDICO Scientific AG is happy to announce the successful delivery and installation of the ED-1 at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.

The new large scale instrument has been provided to evaluate whether it can usefully complement the analytical capabilities of the Institute’s Chemical Crystallography department. The ELDICO ED-1  will extent the existing range of techniques, including SC-XRD, PXRD, SEM and TEM, broadening the range of solid compound analysis available to researchers at the MPI für Kohlenforschung.

What sets the ELDICO ED-1 apart is its ability to provide crystal structure analysis from micrograms of sample material (nanocrystals). This capability opens up new avenues of exploration for researchers across the various fields in the institute working on heterogenic catalysis, organo-catalysis, organometallic chemistry, and organic chemistry among other areas of catalysis.

The advantages offered by the ELDICO ED-1 are expected to accelerate breakthroughs in the research endeavors, enabling the institute to gain deeper insights into the properties and behaviors of solid compounds.

Eldico Scientific is pleased to be able to accompany this evaluation: Looking ahead, we’re excited about the possibilities for continued collaboration and the impact we can make together. Whether it’s through ongoing support, further enhancements, or new initiatives, we’re committed to advancing our shared goals.

ELDICO ED-1 enables a wide range of sophisticated crystallographic experiments

ELDICO ED-1‘s capabilities have been well received by the audience, which recognized it as an invaluable tool for characterizing nanomaterials, assisting in quality control and accelerating research and development times. Additionally, the availability of a “cryo” option, combined with an easy-to-handle cryo transfer system, enables a wide range of sophisticated crystallographic experiments and will expand our application field to include studies of solvent-framework interactions and phase transition crystals.
